Young Aurel Lazar
Auurel Lazar was born on the 5 August 1872 in Oradea.
Politics
Aurel Lazar joined the National Party in his 20s, he was an active politician in Crisana and Banat. In August 1916 during the breakup of the National Party he together with fellow people from Crisana and Hungary joined the side of Vasile Goldis.
Oradea Revolution
In the Oradea Revolution he lead the main group of protesters to the Oradea City Hall where the police opened fire on them wounding Aurel in his left shoulder. Some veterans of the Austro-Hungarian Army that joined the protesters opened fire back on the police guards killing 6 of them, 5 protesters died that day and 16 were wounded. Later Aurel Lazar was named the new mayor of Oradea.

Later Life
Aurel Lazar joined the new National Party of Romanians in 1938 and observed the Transylvanian Union. He died in his house on the outskirts of Oradea on the 3rd of November 1942, the official death cause was an heart attack.
