Cachalot-by-the-Sea (French: Le Cachalot-par-la-Mar) is the second largest city in Galaup Parish, Channel Islands, which encompasses all of San Clemente Island and San Nicholas Island. The population was 54,437 in the 2010 census. It is part of the San Clemente Metropolitan Statistical Area which includes the larger city of New Bourbon. It is located entirely in the Baie des Hippocampes Arrondissement. Tourism, fishing, and hospitality are its main industries. The cities of New Bourbon and Mersenne lie to the north of Cachalot-by-the-Sea, while the city of Pyramide borders the city to the southeast.
