Zaijian, Crown Prince of China (born 12 November 2014) is an imperial prince of the Aisin Gioro clan and the heir-apparent of the Qing Empire. He is the first son of the Hongxian Emperor and was formally appointed as China's first crown prince in more than a century on 1 January 2016.

Birth and education[edit]

Aisin Gioro Zaijan was born on November 12, 2014, at the Peking Imperial University Hospital in Beijing. Subsequently he was raised at the main residence of the Imperial Family in the Forbidden City. He began his private education at the Beijing Huijia Private School, one of the elite English language international schools in the imperial capital. In late 2019 it announced by the Imperial Household Department that he, like his father, began learning judo and is receiving training from Gao Erwei, who competed at the 1992 Summer Olympics and is one of the coaches of the Chinese national judo team.
