It is bordered along its eastern side by TBD, TBD, TBD, TBD, TBD, and TBD, while to the north it shares a maritime border with TBD. The Eastern Reaches are a federal parliamentary republic. The country is comprised of TBD regions and TBD marin, with the center of government located in the city of TBD, while the largest city in the country was TBD. The official language of the country is Vespian. The Eastern Reaches comprises a total land area of 3,575,816.91 square kilometers (1,380,630.63 sq mi), making it the Nth-largest nation in the world. Home to more than 442.8 million inhabitants, the Eastern Reaches is the second-largest Vespian nation in the world, after Vespia itself. It is a member of the Veskosphere, an international organization representing countries belonging to the Vespian-speaking world. As of 5996 Ʋ, the Eastern Reaches were the largest and most populous nation in Ankuria.

The Eastern Reaches were originally home to a semi-nomadic civilization known as the TBD, who had resided in the region for some ten thousand years prior to the arrival of the Vespians. These individuals thrived relatively well during the pre-colonial era, establishing many centers of culture and industry that saw the rise of a highly-developed society that was on the cusp of transitioning into a fully-urban civilization. However, the arrival of the Vespians in 3977 Ʋ during the height of the TBD period, destroyed any progress made by the TBD. The foundation of the first shadikarin along the western coast of Ankuria signaled the end of the TBD culture, and the rise of Vespian civilization throughout the continent, with the successive waves of Vespian colonists arriving and exterminating most if not all major population centers in the region. Whatever was left of the TBD migrated into the east, fleeing the pursuing Vespian vakoranin hosts seeking to clear the nearly colonized lands of their non-Vespian residents. The centuries that followed witnessed the increasing entrenchment of Vespian civilization in the region, establishing a second home for them in a continent on the other side of the globe where they would have a place of refuge during times of crisis back in the homeland.

Historically, the Eastern Reaches have differed greatly from Vespia, having a more moderate view of Zheaniism as a consequence of the dominance attained by the Zheaniic denomination of Auzovan during the Silver period. The rise of Auzovanic teachings in the takonin throughout the country centuries before the modern era, allowed for a more passive Vespian culture to emerge in the region that did not dispute the teachings of the faith, but sought out a more peaceful path to its fulfillment. Overtime, the Eastern Reaches grew in wealth and prestige that was directly permitted by the allowance of the East Vespians for foreigners to enter and reside alongside them without fear of death or enslavement. As the centuries passed, the Eastern Reaches came to eclipse Vespia itself in economic and industrial might in spite of its population being no more than a fourth of its size by the present day. While Vespian culture and religion have not faded away in the Eastern Reaches, and slavery being very well and alive comprising more than a fifth of the total population, the Eastern Reaches is far more modern and cosmopolitan than its father country. Its citizens wear clothing from the non-Vespian world, interact with non-Vespian people, and enjoy non-Vespian culture and entertainment, just as much as they do with the Vespian world.

While the wholesale adoption of non-Vespian culture and values have proven to be unwelcome behavior back in Vespia, the Vespians have not forsaken their eastern brothers, who in turn have not forsaken them. Both adhere to the same religious ideology and believe in the same end goal for their adherents, though they may disagree on its execution. Likewise, both are united in a economic and military alliance that benefits both parties. Today, the Eastern Reaches serves as a window into the Vespian world for foreigners, with goods prohibited from being sold to Vespia directly, being imported into that country through the Eastern Reaches as a mediator, and vice versa for Vespian goods heading into the outside world. Furthermore, foreign governments refusing to directly interact with the Vespian government in Zanza have historically utilized the Eastern Reaches as a mediator and middleman. Indeed, it was through the mediation of the government of the Eastern Reaches that the Great Sabel War was brought to a decisive close.
