In for America is a social media hashtag that originated as an independent social media campaign centered around the Sierran CAS membership referendum of 2019 that promoted American unionism. The hashtag was used by supporters of the Conference of American States who advocated for the continuation of the Kingdom of Sierra's membership in the supranational union. It has since been used by many to express pro-unionist positions both in Sierra and in other CAS member states such as Astoria, Brazoria, and Superior among others.

A reaction to the campaign was Out for Sierra, a response to and social media campaign for supporters of the Leave campaign.

Overview[edit | edit source]

In for America started as a social media campaign among Sierrans who held American unionist (pro-CAS) positions and were concerned over the country's potential withdrawal from the Conference, commonly known as Sierrexit. The campaign first emerged on March 20, 2019, where it first started with a post by Sierra Stronger in America, one of the leading campaigning groups for Remain, on Bubbler which called on supporters of the Conference to express their support for the CAS and opposition towards Sierrexit and Ameroskepticism by declaring their support and posting with the hashtag. Similar posts were made on other social media platforms such as Socialnet and Telecam and videos on VidStream among other similar platforms. By next day, it became the number one most trending hashtag on Bubbler and would be one of the most on other platforms throughout the campaign.

The hashtag garnered significant attention and would be one of the most trending hashtags on social media alongside Out for Sierra, a counter campaign for supporters of Leave. Merchandise for In for America was made which included various alternate slogans such as "I'm In", "For America" and "For America and Sierra". Said merch was designed with the colors of both the flag of the CAS and the flag of Anglo-America as well. Pro-Remain groups would sell said merch in order to raise funds for their cause to help pay for advertisement and other campaign-related finances.

Post-referendum[edit | edit source]

Even after Sierra voted to stay in the CAS, the hashtag would make appearances in other countries, mainly CAS member states, after the referendum. The first major case was in Brazoria where during the general election held in August of the same year, American unionist politicians, organizations, politicians and other individuals used the hashtag to express their support for the CAS. Supporters of the Democratic Socialists, Democratic Cooperative, Green Party used #InforAmerica to express their support for continued membership in the CAS in protest of the Ameroskepticism of the National Conservatives and Libertarian Party.

Members of the People's Party and unionist members of the Federalist Party also used to express their support as well. The election ended with the election of unionist Ed Gonzales of the People's Party as chancellor. During the 2020 American Parliament election, unionist parties and supporters used the hashtag within all member states inlcuding Superior, Astoria, Manitoba, Alaska, Brazil and many others. The hashtag was also used by the Civic Democratic Party in the Antilles to express their unionist sympathies and desire to have the island nation join the CAS.
