List of governments of the United Commonwealth

  

The Government of the United Commonwealth, formally the All-Union Government of the United Commonwealth of Socialist States, commonly known as the Continental Govenrment, is the main executive institution of government in the United Commonwealth. The government consists of the Council of People’s Commissars, its ministries, and various federal departments. The government is led by a chairperson, more commonly known as the Premier, a Vice Premier, and various other people’s commissars, who each head a ministry of the council. Members of the government are elected by the National People’s Congress following recommendations from the Central Committee of the Continentalist Party, which takes place following each national election. Members of the People’s Commissars are selected by the Premier and confirmed by the National Congress.

The Government of the United Commonwealth has its roots in the cabinet established by Aeneas Warren during the Continental Revolutionary War. Upon the creation of the Continentalist States via the Union Treaty, the Council of the People’s Commissars was formally created into law as the collective head of government, with the Government of Aeneas Warren functioning as the state’s first government. The Constitution of the United Commonwealth empowers the Government of the United Commonwealth to exercise executive powers and enforce the laws of the National Congress.
