Michael James Kruger (born June 18, 1968) is a Sierran politician who is serving as the current Majority Leader of the San Francisco Provincial Assembly and is an Assembly Member from the newly created 61st district since 2015. A member of the Democratic-Republican Party, Kruger is the Chair of the Provincial Committee of the San Francisco Democratic-Republican Party and is one of the three four members of the Leadership Committee of the Progressive Coalition since 2015.
Early life and career
Kruger was born on June 18, 1968 in the Sierran capitol of Porciúncula, Gold Coast. His parents are the descendants of immigrants who moved to the Kingdom of Sierra from Mexico. He grew up in a lower-middle class family that frequently moved across the Southwest Corridor with his father working as a Catholic school teacher and his mother working as a nurse. Kruger attended Porciúncula Capitol High School when he was in his teens and would attend the University of Sierra, Porciúncula a year after his graduation in 1986. He would attend the University of Sierra, Porciúncula for a total of four years and graduated with a bachelor's degree in political science in 1990 and would get involved in politics after graduating.
After graduating he joined the Democratic-Republican Party and worked as a spokesperson and media representative for the Democratic-Republicans prior to joining the political scene. When he was 27, he was a volunteer for Gregory Goldman during his gubernatorial campaign during the 1995 election. During the election, Kruger was a very experienced media representative which would influence his political career later on where he served as an official spokesperson for the San Francisco Democratic-Republican Party by the 2000s.
