Montenegro is a state of Italy founded shortly before the Franco-Hungarian War from territory acquired from the Slovenian empire. It was settled with Oscans & Umbrans as punishment for a rebellion against Neapolitan nobles having power over them. Many returned after the war, but the area was thoroughly italicized within a short time after.
