Welcome to the world of Oasis, home to dozens of civilizations inhabiting the planet of Loa.

The concept of this universe is inspired by the Voidworld, which consists of many different material worlds of finite volume and energy located inside a dimension of infinite volume and energy called void. Unlike Voidworld, Oasis is not an infinite universe - rather, it contains only one planet (and even though there are other objects, just like in our universe, they won't be described or discussed, however some of the most important ones might be mentioned), which is almost entirely covered by a desert with multiple freshwater lakes being located across the surface. The areas around the lakes, known as oases, get enough precipitation to support organic life. The Desert, however, is hardly passable by any living being, even though some bacteria do inhabit the dry wastelands, by consuming water from the rare rains (despite the fact that evaporation is many times greater than precipitation, for a certain amount of time the ground and air are humid enough for water to be possible to consume) and organic matter from the dust storms.

Planet characteristics

Loa (also Kán 12 b) is the second planet to orbit the star Kán 12, orbiting it every 332.78 Earth days. It has one natural satellite, known as Zmeli, which makes up some 1.67% of the planet's mass. The orbit of Loa is elliptical, with its aphelion (152 million km or 94 million mi) being 24% greater than perihelion (which is 123 million km or 76 million mi). Its axis of rotation has a tilt as high as 19.7 degrees, which means that the surface temperature changes during the year. Over 99.99% of Loa's surface area (which counts for as much as 452,389,342 square kilometers at an average radius of about 6,000 kilometers) is covered by land, mostly by dry uninhabitable deserts of rock, sand, or dust, with the remaining area is covered by tiny bodies of water, about 3500 square kilometers in total. Loa is one of the three planets in the universe (the other two being Sabel and Earth) known to harbor life. One solar rotational period (day) is 28.20721 hours long (28 hours, 12 minutes and 25.96 seconds)

List of oases and civilizations

eTassao, the largest oasis to lack a sapient civilization, the seventh-largest oasis in the world

An area is categorized as an oasis if it is able to support organic life. Each of the oases has a lake in its core, and three of them (Ja'ayas, Xilvak and T'hiya oases) even do have a river flowing from it. There are 69 known oases on Loa, only 27 of which contain a sapient civilization.
