Electoral reform[edit source]

Beginning with the next parliamentary election, Astoria's electoral process will be retconned so that it uses a party-list proportional system instead of the first-past-the-post system. Seats of the House of Commons and 55 of the 65 seats in the Senate will be assigned in accordance to the number of votes received using the D'Hondt method. The remaining 10 Senate seats (the High Senators) will continue to be elected by each of the provinces at large; 5 of the High Senator seats will be contested every parliamentary election.
