Well, according to Wikipedia about 4% of the population of Saxony are Catholic (as of 2011), so it's not impossible that there are some Catholics in Saxony. Some German Catholics may have also moved from Czechoslovakia into Saxony during the 20th century. With the Center Party, it underwent a change during the 20th century so it's not a strictly Catholic political party, but is Christian in general, and essentially has taken the role of the OTL CDU in modern Germany.
